Mineral rich VitaClay known as Zisha clay is well known in Asia for its superior cooking qualities. For over 3,000 years, Chinese cultures have appreciated VitaClay because it absorbs and retains heat superbly, making it the ideal material to create pottery for cooking. Thanks to its slightly porous nature and low thermal conductivity, VitaClay absorbs heat while maintaining a steady temperature, so it’s excellent for rice or slow cooking. It brings out rich flavors and texture of food. Additionally, VitaClay cooking bowl has natural nonstick cooking surface that is unglazed, so no chemicals or aluminum contacting your food! VitaClay Rice N’Slow cooker is one of the healthiest ways to cook rice or prepare a meal. By stewing foods rather than sautéing or frying, you can cook dishes that are low in fat and cholesterol. Product Reviews

Excellent rice and effortless stews from the cheapest ingredients - clay is great!

I received this product as a gift and I love it! Stews are effortless. Just cut up some veggies and meat, add stock and press "stew". In four hours it's perfect. This machine turns really tough inexpensive cuts of meat into tender stews and soups.

The rice cooks much better than in the cheaper rice cooker I have. No "crunchy" rice at the bottom of the pot.

There's something about the clay cooking which cooks the food more evenly. It is also very easy to clean. There are many other features this cooker has which I haven't explored yet (the product comes with a recipe book), but even if it just made rice and stew I'd say it was an excellent buy!

I love this rice cooker so much that I bought it for several family members for Christmas. I would suggest the 8-cup for families as the 6-cup can be a bit too small for stews and slow-cooking. It is so great to not have to worry about the non-stick coating found on almost all other rice cookers. Clean up is super easy...if stuff gets stuck to it, let it soak with water and it's easy to get clean. I LOVE it!!!
Great brown rice!

Reviewer: ro,
My first batch of brown rice, the only kind to eat. Not to moist, not to overcooked,
just about right, light and fluffy. On a big dish, mixed with soy sauce and butter,
the popped into half a leaf of lettuce with hoisen sauce, with kimchee on the side.

Rolled up on a half of leaf of lettuce and then popped into the mouth. Good, no great. And a side bowl of string beans/broccoli, fish and Classico Alfredo sun dried tomato sauce on top, steamed. Fabulous. Can't wait for tomorrow's meal. A great buy and Amazon pays for the freight. Others want $40-60 to ship it to you. The savings in freight, means you get it for almost nothing, free. Need I say more? The clay pot is an extra bonus. Run a cycle of water/vinegar in clay pot, then rinse first time usage. I'm a happy camper. A good meal and it only cause me less that $10 bucks for the cooker!

Thank you Amazon!!! You guys are the greatest and can't be beat.

Works well with white or brown rice. My favorite use is for oatmeal,
1/2 cup steel cut oats
1/2 cup mixed grains(flax seed, quinoa, millet, barley, wheatberries, rye,
lentils, split peas)
2 1/4 cups water
1/4 teaspoon spice, cinammon, ginger, turmeric, etc
cook on brown rice setting
top w/ frozen blue berries when done cooking, or raisins, or dried apricots
mix w/ 1 tablespoon extra virgin coconut oil, 1 tablespoon mollasses

2 whopping servings of flavor, texture, fiber, iron.

Just don't drop the lid it will break,

I have been searching for a healthy rice cooker for quite a long time. There are plenty of non stick coated aluminum rice cookers out there in the market, but this one is the healthiest one I can find so far. I have owned this multifunction rice cooker for a few weeks, so far it works very well. But this little gem needs more improvement: The timer should be four digits display and should have + and - buttons. Please add on a preset timer function. If they change the aluminum part of the cover to stainless steel, it will be even healthier though this part doesn't contact food directly but when the steam accumulates, it drops into clay pot eventually. After these few improvements, it will be a 5 stars!
